It was indeed a fortunate day for me when I chose the Professionals at Toowong to sell my house at Brookfield.

As anyone who has had the experience of selling a house can attest, the choice of Agents is both crucial and confusing. There are those who make the experience merely a money making exercise, giving little or no thought to the trauma that can precede the decision to sell, and there are those who take the time and trouble to not only get to know the Client and his or her circumstances, but to truly understand the magnitude of the decision which has prompted them to put their home on the market.

I am not unaware that there are many agents who would fall into a category somewhere between these two. Fortunately for me I chose two people who understood the nature of a person who had chosen to live in the same house for 33 years, knowing that it would be no easy task to extricate them from a property which had a lifetime of memories, and was only making the choice to leave as an exercise in practicability.

From the time that Robyn Lesquillier and Vern Gilbert entered my house, their concern for me, their positive appraisal of my house and property, their warmth friendliness and genuine sincerity were evident. They spent four and a half hours on the initial visit, to get to know me, my property and the nature and locality of the area. They walked the whole of the boundaries of my six acre property, noting the wildlife, the terrain and the quality of the homes and properties nearby.

They were honest enough to admit that they really had no idea of the value of the property, but in the course of offering it for sale, they would undoubtedly discover its current value, assuring me that as the property was unique in its location and condition, prospective buyers would soon sort out what they would be prepared to pay, and it would also give us all an idea of its value. This proved to be the case, and within a few weeks of listing the house was sold.

I cannot truly convey my deep appreciation for the way in which these two people went about their task. They at no time left me in any doubt as to the thoroughness of the strategies they proposed in order to find the widest coverage of prospective buyers, they kept the costs to an absolute minimum, and did not involve me in any unnecessary negative feed-back. At all times did they remain positive despite some disappointing setbacks, and always maintained confidence in themselves, in the property and in me.

During the course of the program termite damage was discovered in the house. This would possibly have been a setback to any average agent – not to these two. They personally donned their work gear and helped with the job in hand. Not only did they maintain a spirit of determination and positivity, they added their own brand of humour to the task, enabling the job to be done quickly and turning the whole exercise from one of trauma to some degree of fun. I cannot think of any other agents who would be kind enough to involve themselves to such a degree as this.

Testimonials are usually written by people who have had a positive experience when enacting some type of business transaction. This testimonial is written by someone who has experienced the highest quality of expertise, the sincerest level of kindness, the greatest attention to details, and the deepest level of involvement.

With all of the qualities described above, perhaps their greatest attribute of all is to make a really traumatic ordeal easy, and to lace it all with a sense of humour and fun and make one realize that life is about interacting with each other in a spirit of openness, and that business can be transacted with dignity and wholesomeness.

I wish them both good luck, perfect health and happiness, knowing that with the qualities they possess, they will always be successful in whatever field of endeavour they choose to undertake.
